Career Technical Education (CTE)
As a small business owner of a sheet metal heating and air-conditioning company, I know the growing need we have in Sonoma County for a quality workforce. After the devastating fires in 2017 and 2019, we have had increased work in our trade industry. However, some of our county high schools are not preparing our students to join the various trades industries- sheet metal working, HVAC, electricians, plumbers, machinists, etc. My goal is to work with our local not for profit foundations and organizations, and share with schools how to implement Career Technical Education (CTE) programs and how to grow successful programs. In order to prepare our children for a global economy and workforce, students must have opportunities to be exposed to CTE.
